Post subject: Cluster. Uninstalling 1 instance
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>sqlserver>clustering (more info?)

Hi All,

I'm pretty experienced in Windows Server and clustering, but little
experience of SQL and just want to check a couple of details before I dive
in head first.

I have a Windows 2003 cluster (A/P), running 4 instances of SQL 2000 and I
need to uninstall 1 instance.

I have checked the Add / Remove Programs from the control panel on both
nodes ...

The first node does not list SQL as a program to uninstall, let alone 4
instances.
The second node lists 1 named instance (not the instance I need to
uninstall ) and "Microsoft SQL Server 2000"

I assume that I need to follow these instructions
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290991/en-us ? Would you expect this to
have any adverse effects on the remaining instances?

Thanks for any advice.

Wayne
