Post subject: Distibution file missing?
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>vb>database>dao (more info?)

I have reveived a project that was outsourced (mistake 1) and uses DAO with
an Access 2K database. After spending a few months getting the application
to work properly, I created an installation package for our beta testers. So
far, I have tested the installs on 98 SE and 2K Pro and after the install is
complete I get an "Error 7 - Out of memory" error when I attempt to start
the application. Installing MDAC 2.5 and the Jet 4.0 SP8 files on 98 does
nothing and I still get the error. If I install Access 2K on the test
machine (on either OS), the app runs perfectly as it does if Access is
already install. I am distributing and registering DAO360.dll with the app,
along with the jet files listed in the setup.inf file created by the PDW.
There is nothing on the test machines except what is installed from a
typical install off the CD, so there shouldn't be any conflict with other
software.

I have checked the MS KB and found a QB article on distributing Access
databases, but I have complied with everything in the article. I have also
read some of the related posts and have noticed that there may be other
issues involved. Does anyone know of a solution to distributing Access 2K
database apps using DAO or know what the problem is?

Thanks,

John
