Ok, so yeah, you have AES and 3DES encryption.

But its software based.
How can you seamlessly connect to a hardware based package.

I mean there are add on cards and network appliances that are
specifically designed to do the encryption. Add to this the newer
libraries and higher end video cards that let you use the GPU for
advanced math and off load this from the CPU.

This would enhance the existing encryption without having to roll your
own.
