Post subject: Error: SQL Server ODBC driver
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>sqlserver>odbc (more info?)

To all,

I can't create a DSN using a SQL Server driver.
I checked the MDAC using a Component Checker that I downloaded from a MS
website. It is version 2.8 SP1. There are no mismatched file issues.
The only driver that does not work is SQL Server...the only one I
need...figures.

My OS is WindowsXP SP2 and I installed SQL Server 2005. I have two server
instances, one 2005 server and one 2000 server.

When I try to create a DSN, I get the error: Setup routines for SQL Server
ODBC driver could not be accessed. Reinstall the driver.

How can I reinstall the driver?
I looked on the SQL 2005 CD but cannot find it.

Can I download it from a website somewhere?

Thanks in advance,
Gloria
