Post subject: Extracting Databoss data
Archived from groups: comp>databases (more info?)

Hello,

I have some old data files which were created by a program written in
Databoss under DOS. Ordinarily I wouldn't care about data this old,
but it is some expense data for taxes, and since I'm migrating to a
new expense tracker which uses PostgresSQL I would like to get all of
my older data into it. I no longer have any of the Databoss original
disks, they were 5 1/4 and tossed out long ago. Yes, I should have
converted this data when I migrated to a Lotus Approach system back
when I still had the generator and ancient compiler which it
supported, but I didn't. Technically I could skip migrating this data
since I started using the Lotus system in 1999 and that is far enough
back for auditing purposes, but I would like to migrate this data and
purge all of those old executables. Other than this tax stuff, I
completely abandoned Microsoft products years ago. New system runs
under 64-bit Ubuntu. If anyone can point me to an extract program I
would be much obliged.
