Post subject: High availability setup
Archived from groups: comp>databases>filemaker (more info?)

Hello everyone,

I'm working on my data on FM10 server for some analysis.
I'd like to make a web interface to query the FM database.
But I need 100% (or very close) configuration so that anytime, and
even if there is nobody in the office, the system to be running.

I was then thinking to use 2 FM servers, and they may share the same
data location on a raid box.
The 2 servers will be load balanced. But I'm not sure that FM server
accepts to use the same data as a second FM server. Not found this
clear explanation in the doc...
Because what I need is a data redundancy (of course) but also a
software redundancy.
Any other proposal is also welcome.

This is not a 100% availability configuration of course, the load
balancer may crash, the Internet line may be cut, well. I just want a
minimum of preparation.

Thank you for your feed back.
