Post subject: Importing Excel to SQL 2005 - Error 0xc002f210
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>sqlserver>tools (more info?)

I two computers having the same problem. One is running XP home, one with XP
pro both with sp3 both running SQL 2005 developer version (OS v 5.1.2600)

I cannot get the import to work. I have tried both Excel(2007) and
Access(2007) I get the same error. I even tried to made a very simple 4X4
spreadsheet with all text to see if I had something funny in the spreadsheet
- no luck

I am importing a small (test)spreadsheet that has one column of "general"
data and 12 columns of currency. There are column headers (noted in the
prep.) I tried changing the currency to numbers and took off the headers. It
was built in office 2007 and saved as a 97 - 2000 spreadsheet. I even tried
saving from another machine with 2003 and using that. I am using the import
from SQL 2005 developers version. Everthing is on one machine. I have tried
moving the spreadsheet around on the disk to see if there something was not
working there.

I am getting an "Error 0xc002f210: Preparation SQL Task: executing the query
"possible faliure reasons: Problems with the query, Result Set" property not
set correctly,, parameters not set correctly, or connection not established
correctly"

Steps as follows:

the initializing steps work
the setting SQL command works
the setting connections both work
the preparing for execute stops
the pre-execute stops
the executing gets the error
the rest of the steps are stopping
