Running DB2 v8 on windows
In command window I've used db2icrt db2inst2.
I've db2start ed it.
I can list it plus the default DB2 instance
I can enter it
I can see I'm in it.
I've created SAMPLE db in it
I can query tables in SAMPLE.
*All in command window*
Yet when I go into command centre all I see is the default DB2
instance.
This is driving me nuts.
Please help me.
Peter

GUI tools are designed to behave according to the environment of the
command window (db2cmd) they are launched from
check the DB2INSTANCE variable in the db2cmd window where you are
launching the db2cc or db2ca
Thanks

Thanks for the replies.
Can I explain, I used
db2icrt db2inst2 - create new inst
db2ilist - shows db2 and db2inst2
set DB2INSTANCE=DB2INST2 -access db2inst2
db2 get instance - shows I'm in db2inst2
db2start
I then used db2sampl to create SAMPLE database.

Another question - when I use db2ilist I get
DB2 c: GB-MKX-11DBM
DB2INST2

What is the name of the server showing me for DB2 instance?
Should the same appear for DB2INST2
