Hi everybody,
I've encountered an error in installation of SQL 2008 Developer Edition on
Vista 64bit Business Edition. PerfMonCounterNotCorruptedCheck is failed and
the installer suggests me to refer document on
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/300956
First of all, I found the article is difficult to fully understand.
Seondly, this article offically refers to Windows 2000, Server 2003, etc. and
I don't know whether it is also good for Vista. Then, in the middle of
article, the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services is not
found in my registry. I have no idea whether it is important to solve the
problem if I miss this step.
I'd like to have an easy way to make my installation successful. Vista SP1
is applied to my machine. Does anyone have a good idea? Thanks for your
kindly attention and advice!
Regards,
James Wong
