Post subject: Replication Question about REPL-Snapshot and REPL-Distribution Jobs
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>sqlserver>replication (more info?)

I have two server configured for replication. One server has two
subscribers and one of the subscribers is also acting as a distributor
to a third server.

QUESTION:
The master server has jobs (REPL-Snapshot) one for each server while
the subscriber/distributor has only one (REPL-Snapshot) and one (REPL-
Distribution) for its subscriber. WHY?

Note: We've created a stored procedure to add and drop (articles)
tables on a daily basis. This procedure is working properly on the
MASTER distributor, but isn't working on the DISTRIBUTOR/SUBSCRIBER.

From what you describe this is correct. Each publisher will have a snapshot
agent for each publication. It will also have one distribution agent for
each subscriber (assuming you are using the independent agent option).

Now your remote distributor will have the remote publishers snapshot and
distribution agents on them. I assume this is what you are seeing.
