I have a DB that was put on a temporary server, which has SQL2005. I need to
transfer the DB back, but the original server is SQL2000 SP2. I found a
posting on another forum / newsgroup that seems to indicate that the
Microsoft SQL Server Database Publishing Wizard might work for this. I
realize that the SQL 2000 is behind a few service packs, and would likely
need to be updated, as well, this is not an issue.
Basicly, my question is, will this work? Will I be able to run this
utility, to move the DB, its associated views, etc, back to the SQL 2000
server?
Thank you,
Jason A. >> Stay informed about: Can I use SQL DB Publishing Wizard to transfer from SQL200.. |

I believe the Publishing wizard has an SQL 2000 mode, in which case
you should be fine, as long as you are not using features new in SQL 2005.

Excellent, thank you!
I'm going to give this a try tomorrow, in a test environment (thank you
MS for Hyper-V Server!)
