Post subject: SQL Server 2008 SP 1 Install issue on Windows 7 64 bit
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>sqlserver>setup (more info?)

I have attempted the install and consistently get the following message to
show up in the detail log - any suggestion on how to fix? The dialog box
presented to me comes up with a Unauthorized error even though I am running
the install as an administrator

Archived from groups: per prev. post (more info?)

The SQL Server 2008 SP1 installer fails if the user doesn't have full access
to any of the uninstall registry keys. If you grant full access permission to
the registry key, the SP1 installer will continue. This registry key is for
the Microsoft Forefront antivirus client. The full registry key is:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{2DF2E496-D3B7-4A6F-A341-6DE48FDFEF0A}

Microsoft needs to fix the SP1 installer!
