I have reregistred the service with nscontrol unregister followed by
nscontrol register -name [name] -server [SQLServer] -serviceusername
[serviceusername] -servicepassword [servicepassword] -service
However the problem persists and the event log is filled with messages like:
<NotificationServicesEvent>
<Description>
The specified performance counter could not be accessed.
</Description>
<Context>
<EventParameters>
<Category Name>NS$eTimberNSInstance: Generator</Category Name>
<Counter Name>Skipped Quanta</Counter Name>
<Counter Instance>eTimber</Counter Instance>
</EventParameters>
</Context>
<Description>
Cannot create file mapping.
</Description>
<Instance>eTimberNSInstance</Instance>
<ApplicationName></ApplicationName>
<Component>Performance Monitor</Component>
<Thread>313</Thread>
</NotificationServicesEvent>
I believe that the application works fine except for the access problem of
performance counters.

NS fills the event log very quickly. Is there anyone out there who knows why
this problem occurs?<!-- ~MESSAGE_AFTER~ -->
