Hi

I have installed Sybase 12.5 on AIX6.1 .The installation got
completed successfully but while performing post-configuration while
starting isql service it is throwing error:

CT-LIBRARY error: ct_connect(): directory service layer: internal
directory control layer error: Requested server name not found

Checks i have already performed:
1)There is no occupancy of the ports being defined for Sybase
2)All the execute permissions exists for interface file
3)Interface file has proper entries for master and query for all the
four services.

Please provide few checkpoints to make it work.

how does your env variale $PATH looks like ? , go to $SYBASE dir,
source the environment variable file and try to connect to the
server. One more thing you can try is to give explicit path of
interfaces file with isql using -I option

can you post output of
(1) echo $sybase
(2) exact command you are trying to execute
(3) entry in interfaces file

I ran into a similar error message with my installation, in a
different setting. I installed sybase on my PC for personal study and
saw this error when my PC was disconnected from the network. The error
went away as soon as I connect it back to the network. Hope that
provide some hint for your problem.
