Hi,

Is there a way I can view SQLServer processing steps while it is connecting
to a linked server?

I'm trying to track down a problem of sporadically not connecting to Linked
Server to Access mdb.

Thanks.

Alan.

Uri,

1. The error sent to me by client is below. I checked the Event ID in
EventID.net, but couldn't really glean anything from that.

2. I believe there is a way to view the process, becausue I did it about a
year ago per advice of someone else in this newsgroup.

I had done this specifically to show an IT manager that SQLServer connected
to a linked Access mdb server via IP. You could see that IP step in viewing
the process trace.

However, I forgot how to do this. I don't remember if it was a live viewer
or some log. I can't find the methodology I used.

Thanks again.

Alan

Alan
It could be result of SQL Server bugs. Maybe you should open a support
call.
How much memory do you have ?

Uri,

About 2 gb.

It seems its machine related because it's not happening on 2 other boxes
with same linked server setup.

Alan
