Post subject: cannot seem to delete SSAS database
Archived from groups: microsoft>public>sqlserver>olap (more info?)

I have been having some strange problems with our SSAS server and I suspect
something is corrupt there since it crashes without apparent reason, and last
night the AS service couldn't even start because some file is in locked state.

So I decided to delete the AS database and start from scratch but now I
can't even seem to delete it. When I delete the DB from Management Studio, it
says the command is successful but when I refresh the server, the DB
re-appears again.
What should I do to get the AS service back in shape?

Actually, this problem is solved now.
For some reason, the delete command wasn't able to delete the necessary
files due to permission issues. I checked Windows event log and it showed
exactly which files it was having problem with.

After I adjusted permission, the DB was succesfully deleted.
