Hi!
I want to export/convert at Paradox 9 database to SQL Server 2005.
Some tables in the paradox database has blob fields. I noticed that
there is a "per table" export data function. You can export to txt,
Excel, dBase etc.. I want to export to text files, but using text
files I can't export the blobs (am I right?).. Does anyone know some
other technique in which you can keep the blob data?

thanks!

Hi, thanks!
It's a one time operation. What does that mean a "table copy from
Paradox to the SQL Server"? Is that done from the Paradox program or
the SQL Server program?

If this is a one time operation you could could try a table copy from
Paradox to the SQL server. It might give you a start to work with.

Another approach is to use a tCursor to upload the data.

If the blob-fields are bigger than 1 mb you could run into problems.

It's done from Paradox and it's a fairly simple process.

You define an alias pointing to the SQL server and the use a simple copy
table command from Paradox to the SQL server.

If I understand correctly you are located in Sweden. If you need help with
migrating data, you can contact me at: www.jonssondata.se
