I just installed vista 64 bits. I notice there are two folders for "program
files" but on has the (x86) appended. What is the differende in these two
folders and what does x86 mean?

Actually, you should post your question in a forum dedicated to support of
Vista.

This forum is devoted to support of the MS Access relational database
program which is part of the Office Suite of programs.

That said, x86 refers to the older (32 bit) version. In the good old days,
Intel's 32 bit processers had the "86" designator in them, as in "286",
"386", and "486".
