Hi,

I'm forever running around updating\ change client libraries and aliases
on client machines using the cliconfg.exe utility.

Does anyone know how I could automate this?

Ideally at login users aliases are created or updated?

Would this involving scripting and registry modfications?

Has anyone done this, or any ideas how to ? Any help with this
appreciated really would reclaim hours of my time.

Thanks

Simon

Thanks

Don't know of a clean way but if nothing else, an alias is
just an entry in the registry under:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSSQLServer\Client\ConnectTo
Some registry script to create or update the string values
would probably work.
